Join the artists at Amapola co-op Gallery in welcoming back one of our own, award-winning serigrapher Gwen Entz Peterson. Gwen was an original member in 1980, working to get us off the ground. After three years she moved on to other pastures. Now she’s back! Her silkscreen prints range from a tiny Siamese cat to full-sheet Southwest landscapes.
“Serigraph “is the Latin term for “silkscreen print.” Gwen’s pieces exhibit the clean lines typical of silkscreen work, and her use of an oil-based medium results in particularly intense colors. The large size of many of her pieces is unusual for the technique. They would be a design focus for any room of your home or office.
Come check out our newest artist at Amapola Gallery, on the Plaza at 205 Romero, N.W., in Old Town. Open 10-5 daily.
I like to play with words almost as much as I love playing with paint, stone, ink … Lucky me to have a blog outlet with my gallery since 1980, Amapola artists’ co-op Gallery. -Kristin Parrott, carver, painter and acorn stuffer
