With just over twelve days to Christmas, the holidays are a busy time of year with everyone shopping for the perfect gift for those special friends and family members. The traditional Twelve Days of Christmas Song starts with the gift of a partridge in a pear tree and each verse adds another item until reaching twelve drummers drumming. The last verse goes:
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me:
Twelve Drummers Drumming, Eleven Pipers Piping, Ten Lords a Leaping, Nine Ladies Dancing, Eight Maids a Milking, Seven Swans a Swimming, Six Geese a Laying, Five Golden Rings, Four Calling Birds, Three French Hens, Two Turtle Doves, and a Partridge in a Pear Tree
We’ve revisited the Twelve Days of Christmas to make the song more relevant to our many artist created paintings, jewelry, ceramic items, wooden boxes and much more. Our Twelve Days of Christmas at Amapola Gallery goes
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love gave to me
Twelve hanging punch quilts
Eleven beaded bracelets
Ten gorgeous photos
Nine southwest landscapes
Eight wooden vessels
Seven felted handbags
Six quilted placemats
Five sterling rings
Four raku clocks
Three small gourds
Two coffee mugs
And an ornament to dress up our tree.
Go on. Sing it! Now get down to Amapola artists co-op Gallery and make it come true. Much easier than geese and leaping lords and such.
