Thanks! Happy Thanksgiving
This is the time of year when we are reminded to give thanks and are fairly awash in sentiment. Of course many folks are thankful as a terrific daily practice. I myself carry that close to the OCD extreme, being a near-constant enumerator of my own blessings. What a life!
Amapola Gallery, an artists’ co-operative, has so much to be thankful for. We live in beautiful New Mexico with her wonderful light and air. We are part of Old Town, an interesting and FUN visitor destination. We are located in historic Romero House, a great space, one that is 100 years young this very year. We are thankful for our downstairs neighbor, Yay! Yogurt, although my waistline would benefit from a little less thanksgiving THERE.
But we are especially thankful for YOU–yup, you.
The travelers who stop in every time you come through Albuquerque to see what’s new with us, and to follow us to each new Old Town location. (We hope we can stay HERE, 205 Romero, NW, forever.)
The local folks who “never get to Old Town” but wander in one day, maybe with out of town company, and are hooked, coming in again and again.
Or, the folks who come in once only but just have to buy that perfect painting, ceramic pot, art glass window or coaster set, wooden box or bowl, the fabulous necklace/bracelet/earrings for self or as a gift.
If you haven’t been up to see us yet (for SHAME!) you can correct that omission easily. (We’re a great resource for holiday gifts. Really! ) You’ll be thankful you made the effort, and so will we!
Each of you is a contributor to our continuing success–35 years and counting.
Thank you. Every one of you. Happy Thanksgiving.
After a lifetime batting words around like shuttlecocks in an endless game of badminton, it is a pleasure to use them to promote Old Town and my fellow artists at Amapola Gallery. –Kristin Parrott, carver, painter and acorn stuffer
