More new stuff at Amapola artist’s co-op Gallery in Old Town! I’m talkin’ color and texture and an elegant new look.
Amy Jane Johnson is our new fiber artist and she’s a dandy. In New Mexico for forty plus years, and sewing longer than that, Amy Jane creates scarves, unstructured jackets and even a line of bamboo socks! Her “shrugs ” add a dressy but comfy touch of easy- to- wear warmth to any outfit. She enjoys the “hand ” of silks, raw silks and velvets, and she dyes her own to achieve rich, eye- popping colors. Like many of our all- local artist members, Amy Jane is multi- talented: a beader, singer with Sweet Adelines and functional potter. For now, come enjoy the design, color and texture of her very wearable garments.
Speaking of color, texture – – and music – – our home, historic Romero House, now boasts two gorgeous fountains in our patio. Made with natural stone, they also feature color – changing spotlights. There’s just something irresistible about gaily dancing water, especially here in the high desert.
Come enjoy a great experience! Amy Jane Johnson and 35 other award winning artists and our fantastic fountains! Amapola Gallery, on the Plaza at 205 Romero N.W in Albuquerque. Open daily from 10 to 5.
