Local Albuquerque Art Gallery

See Andalucia Rooftops from Pat Oliver, watercolorist at Amapola Gallery is a local Albuquerque art gallery.“Shop local ” and “shop small ” are hot philosophies just now, pushbacks against big box stores and cookie -cutter merchandise. What do they mean in relation to local Albuquerque art gallery, Amapola Gallery, on the Plaza in Old Town?

1) You can’t GET more local. ALL our artwork is local : Ceramics, beads and silver work, clocks; contemporary and traditional artwork of all kinds including fabric, mosaics, paintings in an array of mediums; woodworking, printmaking, stone carving — you get the idea. Local does not mean limited. We all live in the Albuquerque area because we man (and woman) the gallery ourselves. Local is Us. In short, Amapola is a local Albuqurque art gallery.

2) We are small though as I mentioned reasonably unlimited. We are thirty – odd (some odder than others…) artists banded together in one location (205 Romero, N.W., Albq., 87104) to display and sell some of the finest creations in the Southwest –our own.

So, shop local AND small in our beautiful co-op gallery. Be a hot philosopher!

Amapola Gallery is an artists’ co-op, a local Albuquerque art gallery located on historic Old Town Plaza. You always meet two of our 40 member artists when you visit the gallery. We’re open daily, 10am – 5pm.

After a lifetime batting words around like shuttlecocks in an endless game of badminton, it is a pleasure to use them to promote Old Town and my fellow artists at Amapola Gallery. –Kristin Parrott, carver, painter and acorn stuffer
