“A Story in Silver/ Nature’s Way ” are the themes of Amapola Gallery’s February Featured Artist event.
Diana Kirkpatrick tells stories in sterling silver, with set stones and wire work. The designs flow organically from the stones she selects. Textures reflecting the natural world complete the design, or may comprise the entire design in and of themselves. An easterner by background, Diana finds herself endlessly inspired by New Mexico’s rocks, plants and vistas.
The same can be said for native New Mexican Carol Sparks, a biographer in watercolor of traditional New Mexico. With her light-filled paintings she shares her sense of awe at this beautiful world which surrounds us. You can almost smell the pinon smoke and taste the chili.
Enjoy new sterling creations and landscapes from these talented artists through February. Meet the artists Friday, February 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m. at our First Friday reception.
Amapola Gallery is a true co-op run by and for the artists ourselves. Come experience all New Mexico all the time! Open daily from 10 to 5 p.m. at 205 Romero N.W on The Plaza in Old Town. (505) 242-4311 or amapolagallery.com.
